08About the institute
The Institute of Chinese Mantic Arts advances research and education in both mantic arts and the Yijing, connecting scholars, lineage holders and the public through internal credentials, open resources, international collaboration and global in-person programs.

INDEXPAGE CONTENT
This page states the institute's functions, decision principles, four governance units and required public information.
01Mission
Chinese mantic arts have long been trapped between dismissal and sacralization: one side reduces complex history to superstition; the other turns lineage stories into absolute truth. We choose a third path—retaining the force of symbol and unknown while making dates, editions, methods, evidence and ethics clear.
Catalog rare books, manuscripts, terminology, diagrams, objects and oral history.
Separate traditional genealogy, textual evidence, archaeology, cross-cultural formation and modern reinvention.
Turn formulas, tables and charts into repeatable steps while retaining versions and school differences.
Build paths from public introductions and common foundations to specialization and independent research.
Issue internal credentials through published rubrics, research outputs and ethical standards.
Develop global forums, collection partnerships, publishing, digital projects and city programs.
02Institutional principles
Important claims return to text, object, catalog, edition or interview record.
Respect lineage stories without automatically converting later attribution into early fact.
State calendar, version, steps, constants and exceptions; a teacher's name is not an explanation.
Put schools in one table and show differences and points of non-interchangeability.
Privacy, consent and autonomy precede spectacle or certainty.
Credit, rights, data and conflicts are confirmed in writing.
03Governance structure
Founded in 2026, the institute organizes its work through four governance units: research; education and credentials; ethics and privacy; and international and public programs. Each uses project review, written rules, assigned responsibility and public records.
Project review, source standards, peer review and publication quality.
Curriculum, instructors, assessment, appeals, serials and revocation.
Consent, anonymization, high-risk questions, conflicts and complaints.
Translation, city programs, museum collaboration and open resources.
